Thames Valley Police have arrested a 48-year-old man from Slough on suspicion of racially aggravated assault against an Orthodox Jewish man.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Terry Dixon, of the Berkshire East Priority Crime Team, said: “We know this incident will cause a great deal of concern within our Jewish communities, I would like to reassure you that we are progressing this investigation as a priority.
“We urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to please get in touch with us if you haven’t already."
The Community Security Trust said it was "supporting the victim and urge anyone with information about this appalling incident to contact the police.”
A video of the alleged assault was shared by Shomrim, a volunteer security organisation serving the Jewish community.
