Actor Sydney Sweeney is ‘serious’ about converting to Judaism and has met with two rabbis, it has been reported.
The 29-year-old, who has had roles in TV series The Handmaid’s Tale and The White Lotus, is in a relationship with Jewish businessman and former talent manager Scooter Braun, 44.
According to sources speaking to the New York Post’s celebrity column Page Six: “The couple is discussing having their own family and Scooter feels strongly on the subject.”
The paper said Sweeney had met with two rabbis after recently attending a Rosh Hashanah service at Temple Sholom Synagogue in Greenwich, Connecticut, with Braun, where they “sat at the back”.
Last month, Page Six claimed Braun was planning to pop the question to Sweeney “in the next six months”, and quoted a source saying: “He thinks she is the modern Marilyn Monroe”.

Film icon Monroe converted to Judaism after marrying Jewish playwright Arthur Miller.
Braun was born in New York City in 1981 to Hungarian Jewish parents Ervin and Susan, and when he was older, spent summers at Camp Ramah, which included a six-week trip to Israel.
One of the artists he managed in his music career was Justin Bieber, and the two developed a close relationship, as the JC reported in 2023.
Bieber regularly joined Braun in reciting the ‘Shema’ prayer in Hebrew prior to big concerts.
Last month, Sweeney caught the attention of the Jewish community when sports trading company Novig featured her in its advert, which sampled the Hatikvah, Israel’s national anthem.
The advert saw her in a variety of revealing positions, using various items of sports equipment to protect her modesty.
