Kosher Kingdom will reopen its Golders Green store on Sunday, five months after a major fire forced the closure of its flagship supermarket.
The iconic kosher supermarket's new store is located at 217–219 Golders Green Road, right next to Jewish Care’s Michael Sobell building and almost directly opposite its former premises.
In May, a fire believed to have been caused by an electrical fault forced the closure of the its flagship store.
Fifteen fire engines and 100 firefighters were sent to tackle the blaze, which erupted early in the morning before the store opened and caused extensive damage. Staff were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.
The Metropolitan Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious, although investigations are ongoing.
Speaking to the JC, store manager Rivki Rokach said it was “wonderful to be back” and that the team was “thrilled to be serving our community again”.
Founded in 1991, Kosher Kingdom has become a familiar name in north-west London’s Jewish community, offering a wide range of kosher groceries and specialist products, including items imported from the US and Israel.

The closure left local customers without access to the store at its original site while the business worked towards its return. In the meantime, the owners opened a second branch in Edgware in June.
Videos promoting Sunday’s reopening show the new store’s bright white aisles, fully stocked shelves and a freshly made sushi counter.
Announcing the return on Instagram, the supermarket wrote: “BIG EXCITEMENT. BIG ENERGY. THE KINGDOM IS COMING BACK!”
“Get ready to fill your baskets, stock up on your favourites, and experience the awesome shopping experience!
“Fresh. Fabulous. Fully kosher. Your kingdom awaits!”
