JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

SAMMY KINGSTON (HMH) - sensational left-foot free-kick from 25 yards broke the net. Set-piece king. Who knew!

DAVID LEIWY (Faithfold DOCMM White) - stunning solo effort against Fairlop. Worth the admission fee alone!

ALEX KAYE (Temple Fortune) - beat five players before drilling it past the keeper. One for Nigel Kyte’s statistics, name another three brothers to have scored in the same season!

SHNEUR LEVIN (MLFC Blue) - incredible 25-yard header from a deep ball played by Josh Pistol, looping over the keeper into the top right corner. Reminiscent of Robin Van Persie)

JORDAN ASPIS (NL Galaxy) - GOAL 1 - a bullet shot which rose like an arrow into the top right corner with a shot with his right foot

JORDAN ASPIS (NL Galaxy) - GOAL 2 - class finish on his weaker right foot after a Cruyff turn inside from the left-hand side

JONO GAON (Hampstead Ducks) - a brilliant strike from 25 yards against Scrabble

DAVID LEIWY (Faithfold DocMM White) - picked up possession wide on the right, shimmied his way past a couple of men, shifted inside and let fly from 30 yards to score an absolute screamer into the opposite corner in off the post

NATHAN STEUER (Brook Farm Rovers) - a lovely team move from back to front, back to back one-twos between Philippe Auret and Alon Pinhas and then Auret and Steuer, before the latter calmly slotted home across the keeper and in off the post

------------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

GIDEON RABSTEIN (Faithfold DocMM White) - a powerful drive from around 25 yards was destined for the top corner, I heard the Fairlop players celebrating the goal when Rabstein flung himself full stretch to make a remarkable save and stop the a certain goal. It won us the game

BEN POLLINS (Brook Farm Rovers) - Vale striker was put through on goal in the box but Pollins spread himself brilliantly to deny him with his feet. At 0-1 down it was a crucial save that kept us in the game

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

RICKY LAWRENCE (SPEC FC) - "It was heart in the mouth stuff at the end as Redbridge scored two late goals but fortunately we held on. We controlled the game for the most part but fair play to Redbridge, they almost nicked a point"

AVI GOLDBERG (HMH) - "We are top of the league and as one famous Scottish manager once said “we knocked Hendon off their xxxx perch!"

JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - QUOTE 1 - "I think both sides will agree that a draw was the fairest result in a well-contested match, but one team left the feel disappointed, and one team didn’t – I don’t need to tell you which team was which!"

JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - QUOTE 2- "I have to say that I was very impressed with Brook Farm, and I expect many teams in our league will write them off, but do so at your own peril"

JAMES HARPIN (NW London Bears) - "Football is a simple game if it is played properly and right now we are not doing the basics. I watch Barnet do the same thing as the Bears every single game, pass, pass, pass with no end product and it is difficult to work out why goals are not being scored"

DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood) - "We were depleted and finished the game with 10 men. Lions had a big squad to choose from with a full bench, so will probably view this as two points dropped. To go 2-1 down in those circumstances and keep battling until the end, where we equalised in the last minute, is a great reward for all our hard work. We refused to give up and keep our unbeaten start intact"

AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold DocMM White) - "Games against Fairlop are always tough and that is fine, it’s football. There will always be strong challenges, arguments and small scraps but it seems to go well beyond that both on and off the pitch. I would be interested to know if other teams face the same sort of verbal and physical abuse. It’s a real shame that a few of their players and supporters ruin it for the rest of their club but the league is aware and I trust in them to deal with it"

DAN COHEN (Brook Farm Rovers) - "We are so close to converting these draws into wins and we’ve got another fantastic opportunity at home to the Dons in two weeks time. We’re getting better each week and proving why we’re good enough to be in this division"

HMH 4 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 2

A deadly double from Oscar Wagner saw HMH leapfrogged Hendon United as the sky blues inflicted a first league defeat of the season on the defending champions.

Yehuda Korman had put Hendon in front with a looping header, but this was soon cancelled out by a close-range volley from Dan Hardoon. Then a stunning free-kick from Sammy Kington put HMH in front, and they never looked back, with two close-range finishes from Wagner securing the points, behind Chaim Korman scored a second for Hendon.

HMH manager Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "We knew we had to win and win we did with something to spare. Despite missing many regulars and with four on the bench injured, that was very satisfactory scoring more goals against Hendon than they have conceded in total so far this season. We are top of the league and as one famous Scottish manager once said, 'we knocked them off their xxxx perch!'"

Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: “Unfortunately, if you make mistakes playing HMH they will be punished. We had a very good first half but somehow went in 2-1 down at half-time despite dominating the game and creating lots of chances. The second half was a comedy of errors. A draw would’ve been a fair result but we were ultimately the masters of our own downfall today. We move onto Oakwood where we will set things right.”

FAIRLOP FC 3 FAITHFOLD DOCMM WHITE 4

David Leiwy(2) inspired Faithfold DocMM White back to winning ways as they won a seven-goal thriller against Falrlop at 7 Kings.

Eli Davila and Akiva Solomon added the gloss as Faithfold finished the weekend in fourth spot.

Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "Games against Fairlop are always tough and that is fine, it’s football. There will always be strong challenges, arguments and small scraps but it seems to go well beyond that both on and off the pitch. We are just happy to get the three points we deserved after putting in a real team performance."

Fairlop's goals came via Dean Ben-Yosef, Brad Gayer and James Jaconelli. Assistant-manager Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "It was frustrating once again as we should have won the game comfortably, but after three drop-outs on the eve of the game, what can you do? Will dust ourselves down and go again next week."

OAKWOOD 2 MLFC BLUE 2

An injury-time header from Josh Samberg gave Oakwood a hard-earned point against MLFC Blue as they consolidated in third position.

An extraordinary 25-yard header from Shneur Levin and one from Max Kyte accounted for the MLFC goals.

Joint-player-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "It was a fair result in the balance, although once again we went home frustrated having thrown away a lead late in the game."

Oakwood Director of Football Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a good game between two good Prem sides. We were depleted and finished the game with 10 men. Lions had a big squad to choose from with a full bench, so will probably view this as two points dropped."

BROOK FARM ROVERS 2 HERTSWOOD VALE 2

Josh Gorb and Harry Graham were the marksmen as Hertswood Vale came away with a share of the spoils from an entertaining encounter against Brook Farm Rovers.

Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "It’s very rare that I’ve seen Vale draw, but the fact that we came off that pitch feeling like we’d lost the game today tells a story of how far we’ve come as a club."

Rovers' joint-manager Dan Cohen told JC Sport: "It was a great game between two good sides. No doubt a draw was a fair result, it really could have gone either way. From our side, it’s a shame we didn’t nick it when Pinhas hit the bar late on, but it’s a solid point against a very good Vale team, so we’ll take it and move on."

NORTH LONDON GALAXY 5 BAYERN MINCHA 0

Joey Gold (2), Jordan Aspis (2) and Josh Burchhardt steered North London Galaxy a point clear of Raiders at the summit following a five-star win over struggling Bayern Mincha - their fifth win in seven league games.

Jubilant Galaxy boss Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "It was a job well done - 5-0 win, clean sheet and more points on the board. Of course, we could've scored more and significantly improved our goal difference, but lots of boys got game time who haven't featured much and did really well."

HAMPSTEAD DUCKS 7 SCRABBLE FC 2

A first-half hat-trick from JONO GAON helped Hampstead Ducks claim their most emphatic win since joining the league as they finished in seventh heaven against Scrabble.

Second-half goals from Joe Metliss, Zack Ambalo, Jack Wagner and Max Lever put the game comfortably out of Scrabble’s reach in a game they trailed in.

Ducks' manager Josh Cohen told JC Sport: "This was our best performance since we joined the MGBSFL. It was pleasing to see us both take our chances, and control possession throughout."
