There are some new faces in my Select XI following eye-catching performances on Matchday 7 of the MGBSFL.
1. BEN POLLINS (AC Whetstone) – “excellent He played the sweeper role brilliantly and that thwarted the ball over the top” against Hendon
2. GIDEON GOLD (Shirley Park) – a hat-trick from right-back. It just doesn’t get better than that!
3. RAANAN FIRMIN (Chigwell Athletic) – “Alex Bowman got little change out of him. Very solid performance for the second week running”
4. DOVI VOGEL (Boca Jewniors) – stood firm against Raiders C when his team came under pressure to record their first win of the season against Raiders C
5. JACK DAVIS (London Maccabi Lions White) – young defender was a collusus on debut in the pressure-cooker atmosphere of a derby
6. GARY HILL (Catford & Bromley Maccabi) – “unflappable, didn't shirk a challenge, distributed well, superb”
7. JAMES ABRAMS (London Haroldeans) – led by example with four goals to cap an all-round impressive performance, in front of his dad too, noch!
8. JAMIE WOLFSON (Norstar London Raiders A) – SEE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
9. JONNY HAIK (Faithfold A) – two more goals from a player who has stepped up his game this season. Many happy returns in birthday week, Haiky!
10. DAN GORDON (Faithfold C) – maintained his proud goal-a-game ratio with a fab four to leave Fortune in a spin
11. HARRISON MIDDA (Woodford Wanderers) – maintained his excellent run of goal-scoring form with a deadly double against high-flying SPEC FC
