Italy's Camila Giorgi moved safely through into the second round of the Ladies Singles at Wimbledon following a straight sets victory over Teliana Pereira.
The 31st seed was taken to a tie-break in the opening set, with a crucial service break earning her a 7-4 victory.
Pereira of Brazil battled bravely in a match lasting just short of two hours but Giorgi's superiority paid dividends as she eased home 6-3 in set two.
Giorgi served just a solitary ace to Pereira's three and must work on her serve following 11 double faults and a total of 38 unforced errors.
Giorgi will be looking to emulate her best Wimbledon performance which saw her reach round four in 2012.
She meets Lara Arrubarrena of Spain, ranked 85, in the next round.
