Needing to win to avoid relegation, Vale were magnificent with the bat in posting 324-5 off their allotted 45 overs. Adam Spooner led the way with 80, while Adam Parker struck an unbeaten 63 and there were useful contributions throughout from Alex Haffner, Adam Brand, Ben Lederman and Jonny Gould.
Ickenham never threatened to reel in Vale’s total, not least as Steven Allweis (2-17) and Rayno Greenwall-Cohen (3-30) combined with the new ball to decimate the hosts’ top order.
Vale coasted through the rest of the innings to dismiss Ickenham with ease and record a 157-run triumph.
In his first season in the role, captain Steven Allweis said: “It has been a brilliant effort from the squad again this year.
"To finish fourth in the first division of a tough league is a great achievement – and our wins included a stunning last-over victory against the champions, Brondesbury, which was the only game they lost all year.
“We’ve played some excellent cricket and need to kick on again next year, but it’s been fantastic to see everyone chipping in and not relying on one or two individuals .
“Including friendlies, we’ve been able to give 45 Jewish players the opportunity to experience senior competitive cricket and the growth of our Colts section, which goes from strength to strength, and our Development XI, who played four games this season, is an achievement that the whole club is hugely proud of.”
