  • Sir Mick Davis

The former chief executive of the Xstrata mining company until its merger with Glencore in 2013, Sir Mick, who was knighted in 2015, is the current chief executive of the Conservative Party. In 2009, he became chair of the JLC’s board of trustees, a position he held until last year.

  • Stephen Pack

A current JLC trustee, Mr Pack served as president of the United Synagogue from 2011 to 2017 and, as the leader of a JLC member organisation, sat on its council of membership during that time. He has been involved with the JLC since at least 2009 through its sub-committee on Jewish Schools, now known as PaJeS.

  • Bill Benjamin

Chair of the UJIA from 2013 until handing over the reins last month, Mr Benjamin is also on the JLC’s board of trustees. From 2008 to 2012, he served as co-chairman of the Assembly of Masorti Synagogues (now Masorti Judaism), another JLC member organisation.

  • Nigel Layton

Since October 2013, Mr Layton has worked as a partner in KPMG’s forensic risk consulting practice, specialising in Anti Bribery and Corruption, Integrity Due Diligence, and Fraud Risk Management. He was a JLC trustee at the time of Mr Newmark’s departure.

  • Steven Lewis

Another member of the JLC’s board of trustees, Mr Lewis has served as chairman of Jewish Care, a JLC member organisation, since 2011. He also sits on the JLC’s council of membership.

  • Vivian Wineman

Mr Wineman was president of the Board of Deputies from 2009 to 2015. With the Board being another member organisation of the JLC, Mr Wineman also sat on the JLC’s council of membership during this time. By virtue of his position as president of the Board, Mr Wineman was also a trustee of the JLC during that period.

  • James Libson

Mr Libson is currently an executive partner at the Mishcon de Reya law firm, where he has worked since 1991.

He is a former trustee of the JLC and served as chairman of the World Jewish Relief charity (another member organisation of the JLC) from 2011 to 2016.

During that time, he also sat on the JLC’s council of membership.

  • Poju Zabludowicz

One of the 100 wealthiest people in the United Kingdom, and known for his philanthropy, Mr Zabludowicz is the founder and former chairman of Bicom, one of the member organisations of the JLC. He served as a JLC trustee until April 2014.

  • Leo Noé

A multi-millionaire and well-known philanthropist, Mr Noé has served as one of the vice-presidents of the JLC, as well as its treasurer, for a number of years. He is also a current trustee of the JLC.

  • Gerald Ronson

A business tycoon and well-known philanthropist, Mr Ronson is one of the founders of the JLC and a trustee of the organisation.

As the founder and chairman of the Community Security Trust, a member organisation of the JLC, he also sits on the JLC’s council of membership.

  • Sir Trevor Chinn

Sir Trevor is a vice-president of the JLC, a role he has held for a number of years. Sir Trevor, who was knighted in 1990, was chairman of the Joint Israel Appeal from 1973 to 1993, becoming president of the renamed UJIA in 1993, a position he still holds.

  • Jonathan Goldstein

Mr Goldstein became chair of the JLC last year, succeeding Sir Mick Davis. Prior to that, from 2012 he was chair of PaJeS, the JLC’s education arm.

A previous vice-chair of Jewish Care, he is also, together with his wife, honorary president of the Camp Simcha charity.

  • Hilary Newmark

Mrs Newmark, who split from her husband last year, is the director of Energise Squared, which according to its website is “an experienced and dynamic event management and fundraising consultancy”.

A former senior manager at the Norwood charity, she is also listed as a consultant to charities including Camp Simcha and the Holocaust Educational Trust.
