Peter Morrison Cup holders Manchester Maccabi 1st eased into the National Round following a comfortable victory over Republic of Mancunia 1st.

An own-goal and a second half double from substitute Jay McGarvey ensured Maccabi’s place in the next round.

Republic’s day went from bad to worse when Anthony Jacobs was shown a second yellow card for dissent.

MJSL league leaders Haroldeans were brought back down to earth with a bump after being swept aside 5-0 by ten-man Leeds Maccabi 1st.

Adam Gilman marked his return to action with a goal following a year-long absence with a cruciate ligament injury as Ian Selwyn’s men ran riot.

Dangerman Dave Woolman netted a hat-trick and Richard Black was on target once again as Leeds eased home, despite having Josh Rose sent off.

South Manchester Sports Club 1st were made to sweat before eventually prevailing 5-3 against Leeds Maccabi 2nd.

The visitors, who are eight points clear at the top of the Manchester Accountants Premier Division, were expected to cruise past a Maccabi side without a single point to their name in the Leeds Sunday Alliance.

But Simon Fisher’s side produced their best display of the season and took a shock lead through Ollie Abramson.

That advantage didn’t last long as Tom Cantor, Anton Feingold and Adam Lavin put South 3-1 ahead.

A spectacular 20-yard own-goal by Toby Levy gifted Leeds a way back into the game as the home side pushed forward in search of an equaliser.

But Ben Peppi’s brace sealed the win with Louie Fisher's penalty a mere consolation for Maccabi.

Hyde Park Rovers overcame the loss of several key players to defeat Sporting JLGB 4-1.

Dan Seligman scored twice, while David Cohen and Steven Garman wrapped up the win for David Domb’s men.

Moshe Hasid continued his goal spree by replying for Sporting, but it was too little too late for the Manchester side.

Meanwhile, in the MJSL, Oakhill’s impressive run of form continued as they hit basement boys Broughton for six.

The Lions are up to second following their latest win, despite Alex Nadler bagging a hat-trick for Broughton.

Marc Woolfe and Marc Maynard both scored twice, while Harry Roache and Benji Las were also on target.

Rafi Leker’s 88th minute penalty denied South Manchester Sports Club 2nd all three points as Manchester Maccabi 3rd salvaged a last-gasp draw.

Oli Black had given South a first-half lead but they failed to hold on to the lead and have now slipped down to fourth in the league table.
