(JNS) United States House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has intervened to block an event commemorating the “catastrophe” of Israel’s founding in the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.

Nine groups known for opposing the Jewish state planned to gather on Wednesday for “Nakba 75 and the Palestinian People,” with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) as a “special guest.”
