A pregnant Jewish woman and her husband were reportedly attacked in Venice last weekend, including having a dog set on them.

The couple, who were on holiday from America, were reportedly walking near the famous Rialto Bridge in the early hours of Sunday morning when the alleged incident occurred.

Three men are said to have started harassing the pair, before throwing a bottle of water over them, spitting at them and calling one of them a "dirty Jew".

After this one of the attackers allegedly released a large dog from its leash, which attempted to bite the woman’s husband. The dog sank its teeth into the man's phone, which was in his trouser pocket, leaving him unharmed.
