Vandals have desecrated Jewish graves in a cemetery in Nice.

Thirty graves were targeted, with stars of David ripped off yarzheit candles on some of the graves,

The graffiti, which was condemned by the mayor of Nice and the High Council of Muslims in southern France, was found just days after four people were murdered outside a Jewish school in Toulouse. However it is not known if the incident was in any way connected.

A spokesman for France's Interior Ministry denounced the vandalism stressed "the government's commitment to battle against all forms of antisemitism".
