Legendary singer Gloria Gaynor, famous for her disco anthem ‘I Will Survive’, is set to perform in Israel.
The 83-year-old queen of the dance floor will play Tel Aviv’s Heichal Hatarbut on April 13 next year.
She will be accompanied by a 10-piece band as she belts out all her hits like ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’, ‘I Am What I Am’, and her iconic ‘I Will Survive’, which sold over 15 million copies, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.
It will be the first time in over a decade that Gaynor will take to the stage in Israel, after she performed in the country in 2015.
The following year, she received the 2016 Martin Luther King Jr. award, presented every year by the Consul General of Israel in New York, who at the time was Ambassador Ido Aharoni.

Gaynor said after receiving the award: “I fell in love with Israel the first time I went there.
“Now to receive a peace award from a nation that personifies peace in the midst of a raging storm is more humbling than words can express. I am eternally grateful.”

Aharoni declared that she deserved the award as she had “inspired millions with her music to empower themselves”.
He said: “Gaynor has a special relationship with Israel which she also shares with MLK, whose attachment to Israel and the Jewish people is a symbol of the fraternity, mutual respect and admiration that should unite our communities today.”
