Britain suffered the highest rate per capita of real-life antisemitic assaults in the diaspora over the past year, with approximately one incident recorded per 2,500 Jews, according to a new report.
In total, 121 violent antisemitic incidents were recorded in the UK in the 12 months to April 2026, leaving Britain at the top of the league table of assaults in countries with a large Jewish community when population size is accounted for. The UK’s Jewish population is estimated to number approximately 300,000, according to data from the 2021 Census.
The figures, published by Israel’s Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism were released as a separate report, from Tel Aviv University noted that violent antisemitic attacks in Western countries surged in 2025, with 20 people killed in four attacks across three continents.
Violent antisemitic incidents in the UK included the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation terror attack in Manchester in October, which left two worshippers dead – Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66 – and several people seriously injured; the Hatzola ambulance arson attack in Golders Green last month; and a handful of life-threatening cases including four that were classified by the CST as invovling “extreme violence”.

Australia, which has around 120,000 Jews, had the second highest rate of violent antisemitic attacks per capita, with 45 cases, according to the report, followed by France and then Canada.
While the US had the highest total number of violent incidents, with 273 cases, with a Jewish population of around 7.5 million – about 24 times larger than the UK’s – that figure represents the lowest number per capita of cases in the disapora.
The report also found that globally, antisemitic activity averaged 74 incidents per month across the reporting period, with vandalism and property damage accounting for 38 per cent of cases, and physical attacks accounting for 27 per cent.
Researchers compiled the report using a range of open sources including news agencies, Israeli and international media outlets and reports from independent individuals.

Antisemitic activity was “more intensive in countries with established Jewish communities” the report’s authors noted.
