Rehiana Ali, whose professional suspension was lifted in July, also labelled Chabad as an ‘extremist organisation’

An NHS doctor who has complained of “Jewish supremacy” in the UK has publicly called for a public list of Zionist doctors so that patients can refuse to be treated by them.
Rehiana Ali told a crowd in central London: “I walked to the General Medical Council [GMC, the UK’s medical regulator] and I asked them ‘how many doctors in the NHS have basically been part of the Israeli occupation forces?’
"’How many have gone to Gaza, to Palestine, committed atrocities and then dared to come back and treat UK citizens?’ We have a right to know...how many of our doctors are killers.
"There is no record of how many of these doctors have gone and killed or tortured other individuals in Gaza.
“I think I have a right to know, as a UK citizen, if my doctor or healthcare worker belongs to the Jewish Medical Association”.
The JMA is a representative body that “supports Jewish medical professionals in the UK, and promotes links between Israeli and British medicine”, according to its website.
Ali went on: “The Jewish Medical Association is linked with the Israeli Medical Association...so you don’t dare not say its name because you don’t want to say the word Jewish.
"You cannot talk about the Israeli Medical Association and not mention the Jewish Medical Association.
"I want to know every doctor who is a member of the Jewish Medical Association, I think every patient has the right to ask their doctor ‘do you belong to this organisation because I don’t want to be treated by anyone who would likely be pro-genocide?’”
The consultant neurologist then turned her attention to Chabad, claiming that it was an “extremist organisation” that promoted “Jewish supremacy”.
Ali was suspended for 18 months in December 2024, pending a full GMC investigation into social media posts from her account, including one referring to the late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as “a legend” and “a male role model”.
Other posts included one saying “The hijackers on 9/11 had Israeli Hebrew accents. It’s probably nothing” and another stating: “Now let’s just say that Hamas are not terrorists and are legitimate Palestinian resistance. That UK law was abused at the behest of the Israeli lobby and they need to be de-proscribed.
"Here’s a helping hand – it was written in Oct 2023. In case it takes you another year to state the obvious. It IS legal to disagree with the law whilst abiding by it – however ridiculous it is.”
However, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), which imposed the suspension, overturned it at a six-month review in June this year, citing free speech protections in the Human Rights Act.
The panel also concluded it was “satisfied that there is no information before it to suggest that Dr Ali poses a real risk to public safety”.
It comes after the MPTS declined to suspend Rahmeh Aladwan, another doctor but who is not currently working in the NHS, who had similarly complained that the UK had been “occupied and controlled” by “Jewish supremacy".
Aladwan has now been referred by the GMC to the MPTS for a second time after posting: “Glory to the Palestinian armed resistance, glory to Al-Aqsa Flood [the Hamas codename for the October 7 attacks].”
The GMC is also investigating allegations of antisemitism against Aladwan, which she has denied, though it has not confirmed when the probe is expected to conclude.
The regulator itself cannot expel or suspend medics, instead it can only refer them to the MPTS for a hearing.
