The founder of the Palestine Live Facebook group – of which Jeremy Corbyn was a member - called it a "badge of honour" to be under investigation by Labour over the Holocaust denial and antisemitism it contained, it has been reported.

Elleanne Green's disciplinary case is one of those relating to antisemitism that has been referred to Labour’s highest disciplinary body for possible expulsion, according to the papers seen by the Guardian.

Paperwork reveals she contacted investigating officers to say that she hoped to view the disciplinary action taken by the party as “the much vaunted ‘badge of honour’”.

Ms Green founded the secret Facebook group, which contains posts about Holocaust denial, and conspiracy theories about Israel’s involvement in the 9/11 and 7/7 terror attacks.

Mr Corbyn became a member of Palestine Live in 2014 and left shortly after being elected Labour leader in 2015. Other members included Shoah denier Paul Eisen.

Party officers said they found Ms Green’s response “particularly troubling” and said she showed a “lack of interest in responding to these allegations”.

In a statement to the Guardian, Ms Green said: “Everything I have ever said is consistent with the following avowal: I believe in equal human rights for all human beings and I wish no harm to anyone of any race or religion, all Palestinians and all Jews included, with no exceptions. I have never for one second wished any harm to any human soul.”

It is believed there are around 70 disciplinary cases pending but only a fraction were considered by the party's ruling body National Executive Committee due to time constraints.

The papers, leaked to the Guardian, were sent to members of the NEC, on 3 July.

Other cases considered by the disciplinary panel included a member who claimed the Israeli lobby had manufactured the party’s antisemitism crisis and another who suggested Adolf Hitler’s policy on Zionism “might not be mutually exclusive with his later actions.”

A leaked recording sent to the JC of the NEC meeting on July 17 - when it adopted a watered-down definition of Jew-hate - revealed NEC member Pete Willsman went on a rant claiming he had “never seen” antisemitism in the Labour party and suggesting Jewish "Trump fanatics" 

Richard Angell, director of Labour’s centrist pressure group Progress, told the Guardian: “It puts paid to the idea that Peter Willsman never saw antisemitism. It is time Momentum and Jeremy Corbyn press him – publicly and privately – [on] the need to resign with immediate effect.”
