Radio station Talksport has deleted from its website a controversial comment made by a football manager regarding the Shoah.

During a programme on the station on Tuesday, Phil Brown said a player had a “holocaust of a game”.

But the comment was omitted by Talksport when the show was uploaded to its website after the broadcast.

Former Hull City manager Mr Brown, who is currently without a club since being placed on gardening leave by League One Southend United last month.

During Jim White’s programme, Mr Brown used the term to describe the performance of Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko during his side’s 4-1 defeat to Watford on Monday.

Twitter users were quick to pick up on the remark, with user Mahe Jones describing it as “completely unacceptable”.

Talksport has been approached for comment.
