'The Toyboy Diaries' hits the stage

The play - based on her book of the same name - tells the story of Wendy Salisbury's relationships with younger men

Glamorous grandmother Wendy Salisbury published The Toyboy Diaries a decade ago about her success seducing younger men.

Now the two-times divorcee, who is 71, has brought the story (tagline: "the original sezploits of an older woman") to the stage — the musical version opened this week at Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre for a three-week run.

Her daughters have been less supportive about her candour than her granddaughters, who think “it’s cool to have this sort of barmy grandmother,” one told the BBC.

Ms Salisbury, who is the grandaughter of Russian Jewish immigrants, has said she hopes that the Manchester play will lead to a naitonal tour.
