Israeli choreographer, Hofesh Shechter, awarded an honorary OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours

The Jerusalem-born dancer is considered one of the most exciting artists in the dance world today

Mazeltov to Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter, who has been awarded an honorary OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Shechter, who was born and trained in Jerusalem, has his own company and is now based in this country. He is recognised as one of the most exciting artists in the dance world today. He has staged works for other companies around the world including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Royal Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet. He is an Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells, which means his work forms a core part of the theatre’s regular repertoire. His company will be performing at Sadler’s Wells in his celebrated work, Grand Finale, between 4-7 July.
