Thousands of people turned up for the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run today, braving the rain to walk or run 1K, 5K or 10K for 48 different charities.
Martin Berliner, chief executive of Maccabi Great Britain told the JC: "It's our largest [community fun run so far] by far, we've got over 2,000 runner across five different disciplines. It's become the largest single sporting Jewish event in the country and fundraiser."
This year is the ninth Maccabi GB Community Fun Run, and over the past eight years the event has raised over a million pounds. Mr Berliner said that he thinks "this year we'll raise significant amounts of money...to all of the charities involved."
