JLGB’s 120th anniversary camp in Essex was spiced up by visitors including a wrestling star and a Britain’s Got Talent finalist.
Guests from France, Russia and Israel were among the 430 participants and the theme was “imagine” — “anything is possible if you put your mind to it”.
The programme included adventure activities, a self-produced musical, a competition for King of the Fairytale Kingdom in JLGB’s own Game of Thrones and a Mad Hatter’s Shabbat dinner. A wrestling troop headed by Glaswegian-Israeli Noam Dar and a BGT finalist, ventriloquist Steve Hewlett, were the star attractions.
Among the participants, Bushey member Rosie Haftel said it was “great having the chance to lead and learn new skills. Imagine also allowed me to make new friends from all over the world.”
For Lavie Rabinovitz, from Redbridge, it was “the most amazing camp I have ever been on with members involved at every level”.
