Former American president Donald Trump has laid into American Jews, saying they should “get their act together” and do more to appreciate Israel.

In a post on Sunday on Truth Social, the social media platform he launched, he contrasted US Jews with the “wonderful Evangelicals” who were more appreciative of his support for Israel.

In the 2020, election 68 per cent of US Jews voted for Democratic President Joe Biden, while 30 per cent cast their vote for Mr Trump (compared with 51 per cent of Americans as a whole voting for Mr Biden).

“No President has done more for Israel than I have,” Mr Trump wrote. “Somewhat surprisingly, however, our wonderful Evangelicals are far more appreciative of this than the people of the Jewish faith, especially those living in the US.”

He went on, “Those living in Israel, though, are a different story - Highest approval rating in the World, could easily be P.M.

“US Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel - Before it is too late!”
