The Board of Deputies, Jewish Leadership Council, Bicom and UJIA have been discussing a plan to share premises and establish what one source called a "communal hub".
The Board moved into the UJIA's building in Camden Town, north London, at the end of last year after selling its central London base in Bloomsbury.
Gillian Merron, the Board's chief executive, said that "discussions are under way to investigate the feasibility of the move. Obviously if this can be accomplished there will be benefits to the community in even closer mutual support and co-operation between our organisations as well as financially," she said.
JLC chief executive Simon Johnson said that the council has "for a long time been exploring the possibility of pooling our resources with other organisations, including the Board".
A Bicom team was due to be visiting the UJIA/Board building yesterday to look at the practicalities of any move.
In 2013, proposals were published for the Board and JLC to unite into a single organisation but the merger has been put on ice until after the Board's presidential election next month.
