Remember the Jewish pageboys at Meghan and Harry’s wedding? Well, the latest Royals to tie the knot will be following in this new tradition – we can call it a tradition if it happens more than once, right?
When Princess Eugenie marries Jack Brooksbank on Friday one of their bridesmaids will be Robbie Williams and Ayda Field’s daughter, Theodora. The six-year-old, whose mother is Jewish, will join royal bridesmaids Princess Charlotte, Princess Anne’s grandchildren Savannah and Isla Phillips, Mia Tindall and Prince Michael of Kent’s granddaughter Maud Windsor. Prince George will be a page boy.
At the last Royal Wedding in May, Jewish twins Brian and John Mulroney held Meghan’s veil as she walked down the aisle to meet Prince Harry. Their sister Ivy, 4, was a bridesmaid alongside Princess Charlotte.
Theodora’s father, the singer Robbie Williams, is known to be a long-time friend of Beatrice and Eugenie. His wife, American actor Ayda Field, was born to a Jewish mother and a Muslim father. Robbie Williams has said that his wife “has a very European sensibility even though she sounds like a New York Jew.”
Robbie and Ayda are famously protective of their children. Until now, they have tried to keep them out of the public eye.
More than 800 guests will join the couple for the royal celebration on Friday.
