Gold and silver coins and jewellery made in the 7th century have been discovered at the foot of Temple Mount, Hebrew University researchers said this week. The artefacts were dated to the late Byzantine period. Eilat Mazar, a Hebrew University archaeologist, called the find “a breathtaking discovery”.
