Palestinian attacks on Israelis have subsided significantly in the past month, according to a senior Shin Bet official.
The official told the Israeli cabinet on Sunday that attacks had dropped from a high of 78 in October to 20 in March.
However he warned that there was still “palpable tension” and that terrorist groups were still seeking to "perpetrate significant attacks to try to speed up the escalation."
He attributed the drop in attacks to “expanded operations” against the terrorists and said that more than 290 "significant attacks" have been thwarted since the start of 2015.
Since October, there have been 270 attacks carried out by Palestinians, most of which have been shootings, stabbings and car rammings, killing 29 Israelis and four foreign citizens, and wounding another 250, the official said.
He also noted that Shin Bet have had "great effectiveness in thwarting Jewish terrorism", such as the arson attack that killed a Palestinians toddler and his family in July
