The father of one of the terrorists who carried out the attack at the Gush Etzion Junction on Tuesday afternoon has said that the “thing I most looked forward to in my life was to become the father of a martyr”.

In interview with Palestinian TV journalists, the man – who the JC has not been able to identify – said: “Thank you Allah for everything. Oh Allah, help us in our calamity and grant us something better.”
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited the scene of the deadly West Bank attack earlier in the day, praising the response of the reservists who eliminated the two assailants.

Zamir shared his sympathies with the families of the victims of the attack, which claimed the life of Aharon Cohen, 71, of Kiryat Arba, and left three others wounded.
