Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is to make a historic trip to the United Arab Emirates today in the first visit of an Israeli premier to the country.
He will meet Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan to talk about how the countries can boost ties following the momentous deal to normalise relations last year.
“The leaders will discuss deepening ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, with an emphasis on economic and regional issues that will contribute to prosperity, welfare and strengthening stability between the countries,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
Israel's Foreign Minister Yair Lapid visited the UAE in June for the inauguration of the Israeli Embassy in Abu Dhabi, hailing a "historic moment."
The US-brokered Israel-UAE deal, known Abraham Accords, has also been signed by Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.
