Israel is redeploying its forces along the Gaza border in anticipation of a fresh rounds of protests tomorrow.
The army has indicated it will carry out an investigation into the killing of 19 demonstrators and the wounding of hundreds as Palestinians who launched last week’s “March of Return” to assert the right to return to Israel.
But Israeli snipers remain under orders to open fire on anyone who they believe is attempting to breach the border fence.
An Israeli aircraft fired earlier this morning on a man who was seen close to the border, the Times of Israel reported.
“The IDF will not allow any harm to the security of Israeli civilians and will continue to operate against terrorists who are involved in acts of terror,” the army said.
According to Ha’aretz, the numbers massing tomorrow are expected to exceed the 35,000 who took part last week.
Palestinians were collecting tyres to set on fire in order to create a smoke screen and building sand barriers to protect themselves from fire, the newspaper reported.
