Israel finished in a disappointing 14th place in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Winning 71 points at the event in Oslo on Saturday, singer Harel Skaat missed out on the high ranking he had been predicted to gain.
He was awarded ten points from both Finland and Holland in the competition, in which Germany triumphed. Before the contest bookmakers had tipped Israel to reach the top three in the finals.
But Mr Skaat said he was “proud and happy” with his performance.
“It was a fun experience and I enjoyed every minute of it.”
