Israel is tipped to place in the top three at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Bookmakers William Hill have put Israel at 13 to 2 odds to emerge as the outright winner on Saturday in Norway.
Azerbaijan are favourites to win the competition, closely followed by Germany.
The Israeli entrant, Harel Skaat, will be singing a ballad called ‘Milim’.
Mr Skaat shot to fame in 2004 as a runner up on Israeli talent show Kochav Nolad (A Star Is Born).
The last time Israel took the top spot was in 1998 when transsexual singer Dana International triumphed with the tune ‘Diva’.
The odds are not as good for Britain’s singer, 19-year-old Josh Dubovie. Some bookmakers are predicting the Essex teenager will take the embarrassing ‘nil points’.
