The Israel Defence Forces launched a preemptive strike against Iran on Saturday morning to neutralise threats against the Jewish state, Defence Minister Israel Katz said.
The minister warned that a missile and drone attack targeting Israeli civilians was expected “in the immediate future.”
An Israeli security source said the attack was a joint US-Israel operation, Channel 12 reported.
The unconfirmed report says one of the targets was an Iranian presidential facility.

It also says the strikes are targeting sites from which Iran could attack Israel.
Katz signed an order declaring a special state of emergency across the entire country.
“You must obey the instructions of the Home Front Command and the authorities and remain in the protected areas,” the statement said.
The warning came as sirens blared throughout Israel.

No missile fire at Israel has been reported thus far, and Israelis are required to stay near safe rooms but not to enter them.
