The IDF has confirmed that it fired on several “terrorist operatives” near Gaza City after they crossed the ceasefire line and approached troops.

Israeli soldiers are currently operating within the so-called yellow line – the area still under IDF control after the initial stage of its withdrawal under the US-backed ceasefire deal.

The military said that terrorists crossed the line on two occasions on Monday morning, prompting a response from units in the area.

In the first case, a group crossed the line in the Shejaiya neighbourhood of eastern Gaza City.
