A Hamas terrorist who took part in the abduction of four hostages on October 7 has been “eliminated” by the IDF.
The Israeli military announced the death of Yousef Ayesh Awad Ramadan, a deputy commander of Hamas’ elite Nukhba cell, on X last night.
The tweet said: “Ramadan infiltrated Israeli territory & took part in the abduction of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eliya Cohen, Alon Ohel & Or Levy from the bomb shelter at the Re’im Junction during the October 7 massacre.”
He was assassinated in an airstrike on Monday evening, according to the IDF.
The military went on to say that Ramadan had also “advanced attack plans against IDF soldiers & Israeli civilians” during the war and in recent weeks. “As such, he posed an immediate threat to IDF troops operating in Gaza,” the post added.
Precision munitions and aerial surveillance were some of the measures used to “mitigate harm to civilians,” the IDF said.
Cohen and Levy were released by Hamas in negotiated prisoner exchanges in February 2025, while Ohel was among the last hostages to be freed in October. Tragically, Goldberg-Polin did not survive. The American-Israeli, whose hand was blown off during the horrific attack by Hamas, was murdered by his captors on August 29, 2024.
Back in April the IDF eliminated another terrorist, Ali Sami Mohammad Shakra, who took part in the same raid.
