Three IDF soldiers have been wounded – one of them seriously – after 14 Hamas gunmen emerged from a tunnel in Khan Younis this morning and attacked an IDF encampment.
According to IDF sources, the terrorists emerged metres from the Israeli position and opened fire with machine guns and RPGs. At least eight were killed in the firefight.
The injured Israeli troops served with the Kfir Brigade’s Nahshon Battalion.
One was seriously injured and the other two are listed in good condition, according to the military.
According to unconfirmed reports, the terrorists had been seeking to abduct as well as massacre IDF soldiers. They were unsuccessful in both objectives.
Some of the gunmen managed to breach the encampment, where they exchanged fire with troops of the Kfir Brigade, according to an IDF probe.
The IDF has said it is working to track down the remaining gunmen involved in the attack.
The IDF released footage showing drone strikes against some of the terrorists.
⭕️Earlier today, over 15 terrorists fired both gunfire and anti-tank missiles and attempted to infiltrate a fortified IDF position in Khan Yunis. The troops, with IAF support, eliminated 10 armed terrorists in close-quarters combat.
