Four Israelis have been injured after a shooting in the West Bank on Tuesday (June 13) afternoon.

Israel's Magen David Adom emergency service said it had treated five Israelis wounded by gunfire near a checkpoint in Yabad.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) also said it had received a report of a shooting

It is understood the attackers fired from a moving car at a man in his 30s, moderately wounding him, before driving further down the road and shooting at a military vehicle and wounding four IDF soldiers moderately to lightly.

The wounded man in his 30s managed to drive to the Reihan Crossing and received initial treatment there before being transferred to Hillel Yaffe Medical Centre for further treatment.

The four wounded soldiers were also treated at the scene before one of them was transported to Sheba Medical Centre at Tel Hashomer in a helicopter. The other three injured soldiers were evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Medical Centre.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian health ministry claimed a 19-year-old "was shot dead by Israeli forces” at Balata camp in a separate incident.

According to an AFP tally, since the start of the year, at least 21 Israelis, 158 Palestinians, a Ukrainian and an Italian have been killed in violence linked to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The figures include combatants as well as civilians and, on the Israeli side, three members of the Arab minority.
