Israeli celebrity chef Yossi Shitrit is taking the flavours of Israel to four American cities as part of a Tourism Ministry initiative designed to encourage visitors to discover the country through its food and culture.
The Taste of Israel Food Truck Tour 2026 offers free tastings of Israeli dishes alongside Israeli music.
The public events are taking place in Boca Raton, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Nashville, Tennessee; and the Dallas–Fort Worth area of Texas.
The tour began on October 25 and is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, with tastings available between noon and 3pm at each stop.
Shitrit, known for combining traditional influences with contemporary cooking, said he hoped the experience would encourage Americans to learn more about Israel and its people.
“For me, everything begins with taste and memory,” he said. “That is what I want to bring with me on this journey: the warmth, generosity and meeting of traditions that exist in Israeli cuisine.”
Tourism Ministry director-general Michael Izhakov said the initiative would bring the country's culinary diversity to American audiences, from Jerusalem's spice markets to Tel Aviv's beachfront restaurants.
The US remains Israel's largest source of incoming tourism. Approximately 295,000 American tourists visited between January and September 2026, accounting for 37 per cent of all incoming visitors during that period.
