Thanking Langdon for life-changing support

articlemain

Simone Greenbaum will be supporting disabilities charity Langdon in thanks for how it has changed the life of her 15-year-old daughter, Sophie.

Ms Greenbaum, who will run alongside Sophie in the 1k, said Langdon's Brady Club for 12-to-18-year-olds with mild-to-moderate learning disabilities had been a godsend.

"My daughter has autism, so social interaction is very difficult for her. She's been going there for a couple of years now and they've given her a social life.

"It's opened up her world. It's a safe and caring environment and she has real friends who function on a similar level to her.

"We're running to give something back. We want to say thank you."

Ms Greenbaum, who lives close to the Brady Club's Edgware premises, said that over the past two years she has "seen a huge difference in Sophie's confidence, her communication and her ability to interact with others. She's a happy bunny, a contented teenager. A parent can't ask for any more."

The pair raised £1,000 in last year's fun run and have so far brought in another £300 in donations this time around.
