Limmud is to rename its winter conference, the cross-communal organisation’s biggest annual event, as Limmud Festival.
The new title is thought to better reflect the character of the five-day gathering, which has commonly been portrayed as British Jewry’s equivalent of the Edinburgh Fringe.
Anna Lawton, co-chair of this year’s event which will take place for the third year in Birmingham, said, "The shift from Conference to Festival is more evocative of the vibe everyone will feel when they walk through the doors in December.”
A bigger teen and family programme is promised this year, as well as the introduction of a “street food” alternative to the main catering.
