When Daniella Baron Cohen dedicated two medicycles to Magen David Adom, she delved into the back catalogue of her famous son Sacha for the inscription, settling on Ali G’s “Respect!”.
The vehicles were dedicated at a Tel Aviv ceremony attended by family, friends and MDA representatives. Although Sacha Baron Cohen was unable to present, he sent a video tribute to his father Gerald, who died last year.
Composer and musician Erran Baron Cohen played some of his father’s favourite songs on the keyboard.
The dedication cemented the close ties between the family and MDA as Gil Weiser, Mrs Baron Cohen’s brother, founded Israeli Friends of Magen David Adom.
