Bernstein centenary marked with series of events

Next year marks the centenary of Leonard Bernstein's birth and, although the actual date does not fall until August, there are already events taking place to mark it.

In the UK these include a number of concerts with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican in London. Events in January cover a screening of On the Waterfront - the Oscar winning film for which Bernstein wrote the score, as well as a cabaret tribute, talk and choral, orchestral and chamber music.
