The award given to Dr Harold Preiskel, from north London, is certainly more than a mouthful.

He has been named the 2016 recipient of the American Prosthodontic Society Golden Medallion for his "exceptional and sustained impact on the field of prosthodontics" - that is, fake teeth to you and me.

The prosthodontist was praised by the society's presient Steven Sadowsky as an "international treasure" among the dental elite whose extraordinary work deserved to be "recognised well beyond our borders".
