JC GOAL OF THE WEEK

DARYL RUBIN (Fairlop FC) - if there's a better goal this week, Jake Sanders "wants to see it". Only needed two touches on the edge of the box with the second a thunderous volley that flew into the top right-corner to double Fairlop's advantage against Faithfold DocMM White

JAY SHARER (Borussia Barnet) - stunning half-volley from just inside the box, with the outside of the foot into the top corner (video on Instagram!)

----------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK

RYAN COLE (Fairlop FC) - emergency goalkeeper produced a sensational one-handed save, tipping the ball on to the crossbar in the second half against Faithfold DocMM White

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK

SIMON LINDEN (Temple Fortune) - "It doesn’t matter how much FC Team feel they dominated the ball, we were happy for them to do so - it was our game-plan and it worked an absolute treat until they converted a penalty inside the last 10 minutes"

JORDAN SAPLER (Hendon Utd Sports) -  I just want to give huge credit to Oakwood and Dan Kristall - they were struggling for players with only 11 and then a man went down injured and had to go off. It was another hour before they had an 11th man turn up. It’s so easy to pull out of a game and there’s so many teams who would (and have done). We play Sunday league to actually play football and if only more teams were like them we would get a lot more football played"

MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - "Connor was as cool as a cucumber in front of goal and when the big moment came the big man delivered"

FAITHFOLD DOCMM WHITE 1 FAIRLOP 2

Fairlop FC claimed one of the results of the day - thanks to goals from Daniel Rosen and Daryl Rubin - as they beat table-toppers Faithfold DocMM White.

Fairlop's Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "I don't even know where to start, but this was special, even considering all what we've achieved in our short history."

OAKWOOD 0 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 2

Yehuda Korman and Chaim Korman helped Hendon United Sports overcame Oakwood to move to within a point of leaders Faithfold DocMM White with three games in hand.

Delighted Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "Today was a day where we were just happy to play football; it has been a frustrating time over the last few months with weather and other postponements, but we were determined to show why we love playing on a Sunday morning today."

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE 0 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 4

A brilliant brace from Liron Mannie saw Raiders become the first team to clinch promotion this season, as they marked their return to the top-flight with an impressive 4-0 win at Redbridge.

Further strikes from top-scorer Aron Gale and the returning Jordan Marks added the gloss. Raiders joint-manager Gideon Gale told JC Sport: "Could we do it on a cold Sunday morning in Essex, of course we could! A comprehensive display got the job done. We should've and could've quite easily been a lot more but poor finishing let us down. Two games remaining and one win gives us the league. We look forward to the challenge ahead and back ourselves to complete the job. Special mention to Jordan Marks - first 20 minutes back from injury in two years and bagged himself a goal. An unreal addition for the business end of the season."

DC Prediction: RJC 1 NLR 3

SPEC FC 0 JEWDINESE 2

Top-scorer Reiss Mogilner and Aaron Goldberg struck as Jewdinese consolidated third place with a 2-0 win at out-of-sorts SPEC.

SPEC came closest to opening the scoring early on, however, midway through the first half, a nice one-two between Goldberg and Mogilner saw the latter smash the ball towards goal. SPEC keeper Ricky Lawrence found the shot too hot to handle and fumbled the ball over the line. Nese controlled the game more in the second half and created more goal-scoring opportunities, however SPEC created their fair share too and it was only poor finishing that stopped them equalising. A second goal for Nese killed the game. A fantastic ball from Grant Reingold found Goldberg whose initial shot was well saved but he was on hand to tuck home the rebound.

'Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "I was not particularly impressed with our performance, and I haven't been for the past three weeks. With our season defining game next week, we are not currently on a good run of form in terms of performances. The one positive is that the last time we played well it was against Galaxy, so hopefully we can turn it on again next week."

SPEC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "We put in a good performance today but didn’t take our chances and a couple of sloppy goals cost us."

DC Prediction: SPEC 1 Nese 4

FAITHFOLD DOCMM GREEN 1 WEST HAMDILLAH 0

A solitary effort from Blake Buckman helped Faithfold DocMM Green climb to fourth in the division after earning their seventh league win in a close encounter against West Hamdillah.

Faithfold player-manager Ben Kfir told JC Sport: "It was a good game. I felt we didn't capitalise on our chances but was pleased with the fitness and our work on the ball."

DC Prediction: Faithfold 2 Hamdillah 2

TEMPLE FORTUNE 0 FC TEAM 2

Connor Perl struck a deadly double as FC Team took another step towards the title with a hard-fought win over third-placed Temple Fortune.

Fortune took the lead with a 75th minute own goal, but FC Team stole the points right at the death.

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: “We are delighted to get the victory against a highly-motivated Fortune side. We were by far the better side, we created numerous chances and if it wasn’t for Ed in goal the game would have been out of sight. When we did somehow found ourselves 0-1 down by a freak own goal, we kept our composure, played our football and showed great team spirt to win the game in the final ten minutes. Connor was as cool as a cucumber in front of goal and when the big moment came the big man delivered. The great thing about my team is that no matter what happens we always find a way to win! Three games to go all we can do is keep winning."

Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "We gave everything today, and it's frustrating to not have got anything from the game. It doesn’t matter how much FC Team feel they dominated the ball, we were happy for them to do so - it was our game-plan and it worked an absolute treat until they converted a penalty inside the last 10 minutes. The injury-time winner hurts - hurting shows how much it meant to my team but this is phase one with this group, we can be proud of our season and get stronger. I had 12 players today - I'm proud of the lot of them and I wouldn’t swap my keeper Ed for any keeper in all Jewish leagues, absolute class act and today’s performance from the whole group is encouraging. Now we must finish top three and I’m confident we will do so!"

DC Prediction: TFFC 1 FC Team 3

DAVID WOLFF DIVISION TWO CUP QUARTER-FINAL

PARIS SAINT-JEWMAIN 0 BORUSSIA BARNET 2

Borussia Barnet remain on course for a league and cup treble after beating PSJ with goals from Ben Sharer and Ollie Hart.

Borussia boss Brad Papier told JC Sport: "We were far from at our best but we’re delighted to be in the next round of the cup. We know it’s a tough semi-final against Chigwell but the treble hopes live on. Massive credit to PSJ as they were much better than the last two times we played them and massive credit to my boys who always seem to find a way to win despite how good or bad we play."

PSJ boss Elio Elia told JC Sport; "Despite the defeat, I was proud of the performance of the team. We had some good spells in the game and hit the woodwork a couple of times, but unfortunately two avoidable errors cost us in the end. On another day it may have gone our way but credit to Barnet - we wish them luck for the rest of the tournament."
