Burchell, 21, was a member of the University of Charleston WV  team that won the NCAA Division Two National final In Pittsburgh, defeating Cali State LA 2-0.

He has been an integral part of the team, which enjoyed a 22-game unbeaten run.

He also won the The Elite 90 Award from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), recognising the  student athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average who has reached the competition at finals stage, as well as for outstanding sporting achievement.

Burchell was one of the star players of the Maccabi tournament in  Budapest. Having missed a first-half penalty in the final against France, he made amends with a stunning second-half volley to put GB in front. France then equalised, but team-mate Austin Lipman clinched the gold medal with his strike just a minute later.
