Heaton Park Rovers could yet end a miserable season on a high by lifting the Tony Cohen Cup.
It's been a campaign to forget for HPR, last season’s runners-up in the MJSL.
Tipped to mount another charge at the top, David Seligman’s side have fallen well short and have been perched at the wrong end of the table for the majority of the season.
A points deduction along with a player shortage has not helped their cause.
But there appears light at the end of the table after this win booked their spot in next month’s final against South Manchester Sports 2nd.
Seligman said: "It's been a difficult season and it has not gone to plan. We haven’t been good enough.
"But not once have we felt sorry for ourselves and downed tools. Winning a trophy would be a reward for the hard work put in throughout."
Alex Swift opened the scoring for HPR before Tal Feingold hauled fellow MJSL strugglers Maccabi Manchester Blue level.
Jonathan Franks restored the lead for the visitors before Charlie Simpson blueew another chance toe restore parity when he blazed a penalty over.
Joe Copeland's strike made sure of the semi-final win late on.
