The last three midweek games at the Lane have seen 20 goals and a penalty shoot-out, so it is no surprise that another nine goals were added in a thriller last night; once again rewarding the hardy souls who came to watch on a cold and windy night.
It didn’t start well for Lions when a mix up allowed Broadfields – lying above Lions in the table before kick off – to take the lead from close range after just three minutes.
Lions were back on level terms 10 minutes later and Bolle’s memorable night was underway when Austin Lipman’s free kick-fell to the Lions striker to slot home.
After a period of relative calm, Lions took the lead on the half hour when Jordan Marks, back from injury and in the starting line-up for the first time this season, whipped in a great ball from the left and Bolle again finished confidently.
Bolle completed his first hat-trick on the stroke of half-time after Adam Burchell was hacked down in the penalty area. The Lions striker stepped up to score from the spot and give Lions a 3-1 lead.
The goals came thick and fast when the game resumed. Broadfields were not out of it and pulled one back a few minutes into the second period; but within six minutes Lions had regained their two goal cushion when Adam Lipman’s long ball was received by Bolle who fired emphatically in for 4-2.
Again Broadfields responded with a good downward header scored past James Harpin from a dangerous free-kick; yet again Lions forged back in front through Bolle; Burchell teeing up the Lions striker for his fifth, finished with a clever chip from the edge of the box.
Bolle completed the scoring in the last five minutes when substitute Josh Shack won the ball in midfield and found Bolle who finished to complete a second half hat-trick.
Lions coach Darren Yarlett was full of praise for the in-form Lions and said: "I’m absolutely delighted with the result and performance.
"The boys played extremely well in difficult conditions and did not stop working all night.
"Max Kyte put in an excellent performance this evening but the headlines will go to Adam Bolle whose finishing was superb all evening.
"That’s now 10 wins in our last 11 games. A great 25th wedding anniversary for the gaffer (Andy Landesberg) who was out celebrating and hopefully we made that even sweeter for him."
