Dudi Sela (87) beat Benjamin Becker (101) in the first round of the Australian Open to set up a second round tie against Fernando Verdasco.
Sela reached the second round in Melbourne for the fifth time after beating the German in four sets, 6-1 6-3 2-6 6-2.
The Israeli had expected to play Rafael Nadal - who beat him in round three of the grand slam last year - but the fifth-seeded Spaniard was dumped out by the impressive Verdasco.
Sela was cheered on by hundreds of fans from Israel and the local Jewish community and went over to hug some of his supporters after the victory.
