Rampant Lions cruise into cup semis

Maccabi London Lions Vets made it a weekend of double cup delight with a convincing victory over a spirited Latymer side.

It took the hosts barely two minutes to lead. Rob Glass fed fellow defender Guy Morris who in turn freed the marauding Saul Conway. The Lions front man held off his marker before rifling a fine low finish into the bottom corner.

The lead was almost doubled following a flowing move that resulted in Conway’s first-time shot from Rayner's superb ball in brilliantly parried by the Lats keeper. But he could do little shortly after when another great move again saw Rayner cross deep, Conway this time laying the ball unselfishly back to Lee Cash who couldn’t miss.
