CAMDEN PARK 5 SPEC FC 3
A double from Adam Paris helped Camden Park booked their place in the final four of the BGT with victory in an eight-goal thriller against Division One rivals SPEC FC.
Camden's performance can be best described as a game of two halves. They started the game reasonably well, with Josh Marks slotting home well after some good work down the left wing from Guy Marks.
Camden then went through a period of extreme sloppiness, giving the ball away frequently and struggling to deal with SPEC FC's high and aggressive pressing game. As a result, the visitors managed to turn round the deficit, first with a goal resulting from a mistake at the back, and second with a well-taken finish to take the lead.
Paris equalised on the stroke of half time, with a very well taken goal, curling the ball round the keeper from outside the box to make the score 2-2.
Camden came out for the second half like a completely different team. They were passing the ball around more fluently and defended much better as a unit.
Richard Silver put them 3-2 up in the opening stages of the second half, cooly slotted the ball home after a neat exchange with Josh Marks.
Paris then extended the lead to 4-2 with an instinctive finish into the top corner after holding off a nearing defender.
At this stage, the hosts were controlling the game and as SPEC started to tire. However, they managed to pull one back through a set-piece, to set up a grandstand finale.
However, any Camden nerves were laid to rest as Guy Marks finished off a solo run down the left wing, into the bottom far corner.
Camden's Max Saunders told JC Sport: "It was a good solid win in the end, with some great performances all round, especially offensively and we now look forward to the semis.
"Camden also managed to give the returning Ben Harris some minutes, after being out injured the whole season,
he looked sharp and it was good to have him back."
SPEC FC's joint-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "It's a great shame to go out, but we can be proud of how we played and all in all it wasn't a bad season."
