Australian sprinter Steven Solomon was the star turn on Day Nine of the London Olympics.
Steven Solomon, who is 19 and from Sydney, ran a lifetime best to qualify for the Men's 400m final at The Olympic Stadium.
Having ran a PB to win his heat yesterday, Solomon finished his semi-final in third place and, after watching the next two races, he was ecstatic after finding out he had reached tomorrow night's final as the fastest loser.
WINDSURFING
Lee Korzits placed second after 10 races in the Women's RS-X Windsurfing competition in Weymouth.
The double world champion finished ninth in the penultimate race and 11th in the final race of 10, more than two minutes behind the winner Tuuli Petaja of Finland.
Korzits will start Tuesday's medal race 14 points behind Spain's Marina Alabau in an event for the top 10 finishers in the 10-day event.
GYMNASTICS
Alex Shalitov finished sixth in the Men's Floor final at North Greenwich Arena. The Israeli received a mark of 15.333.
SAILING
Gil Cohen and Vered Bouskila finished 50 seconds behind GB's Hannah Mills and Saskia Clarke who won race five in the Women's 470.
The Israeli pairing lie ninth overall in the competition.
Gidi Kliger and Eran Sela finished in 14th place on Day 6 of the Men's 470.
Nufar Edelman finished a disappointing 26 in Race 10 of the Women's Laser Radial.
